Lobster Theremin had a pretty spectacular 12 months in 2014, rising from relative obscurity to all conquering heroes with a slew of house and techno records released at such a breakneck pace they managed to make L.I.E.S look like a bunch of slackers. They also featured in our Best Of 2014 lists with one of my top five records of the year. 2015 sees them in no hurry to slow down and rest on their laurels with what already looks like a mean procession of essential belters stretching off into the foreseeable future.
Their label showcase, then, is probably going to be a big, big night at Glasgow’s own sweaty little techno cathedral, La Cheetah. DJ sets from Label head Jimmy Asquith and Daze bookend a live set from Imre Kiss which, given the sweetly fractured techo-scapes of his Raw Energy EP on LT, is probably going to be something soul scramblingly special.
Doors open at 11 at La Cheetah down on Queen Street. Tickets are a 10 spot in advance from Resident Advisor .
Look, just go. Do it for me. I have to go to work early on Saturday so I have to live vicariously through the fun of others. All three will be quality.
